The PGA TOUR has been proud to make Wisconsin home for a PGA TOUR event for more than 35 consecutive years.

The Greater Milwaukee Open has been a summer fixture here since 1968 when Dave Stockton beat Sam Snead by four strokes at the Northshore Country Club in Mequon, WI. Previous winners of this event include former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman, World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman, multiple victors Dave Stockton, Dave Eichelberger, Calvin Peete, Scott Hoch and Loren Roberts and Art Wall Jr., who won the 1975 tournament at age 51 to become the second-oldest winner in TOUR history. Professional tournament action dates back to 1940 when Ralph Guldahl won the first Milwaukee Open.

The PGA TOUR also has a number of members who are Wisconsin natives, including J.P. Hayes, Jerry Kelly, Skip Kendall, Andy North, Steve Stricker and Mark Wilson.

We hope that PGA TOUR Guide to Golf, an officially licensed publication of the PGA TOUR, will be a thorough guide to this area, whether you’re vacationing, attending a tournament or simply enjoying a casual round.

Timothy W. Finchem,
Commissioner - PGA TOUR
