Halifax Plantation
Come Enjoy The Best Life Around
A Natural Oasis Preserves The Best Of Florida Living
The approach to Halifax Plantation is a harbinger of the delightful things to come. You arrive under a canopy of century-old oaks, along one of the nation’s most scenic highways. The scenery doesn’t stop at the gates. Within the community, great care has been taken to nurture mature trees which provide the shade and beauty which so enhances the enjoyment of the neighborhood. The preserved areas and the golf course are home to a wide range of wildlife. But perhaps the most outstanding environmental feature of Halifax Plantation is its position as a natural oasis; between the community and the Atlantic Ocean is absolutely zero development. The pristine land is untouched and will remain so. And that makes Halifax Plantation’s location truly remarkable: just minutes from Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach via the nearby interstate, yet surrounded by some 3,200 acres of preserved upland forest, salt marsh and tidal creeks. The Atlantic Ocean and miles of public beaches are literally ten minutes away.

The community itself lives like a park, with championship golf, winding roads, lush landscaping and a wealth of amenities. Pedestrian and biking paths transverse the community. Residents may easily bike from one end of the community to the other. For walkers and joggers, the shaded lanes are ideal venues for a casual stroll or more serious exercise. It’s the ideal setting for the kind of camaraderie that naturally develops, around the pool, on the tennis courts, or in the lively clubhouse with its spectacular dining.

Come Enjoy The Best Life Around
More than one golfer has arrived at Halifax Plantation to play a round...and decided to stay.
Halifax Plantation’s Preferred Builder Program offers a welcome measure of assurance in the building process, and provides a diverse choice of architectural styles, floor plans and features to satisfy the most discriminating buyer. Once you’ve selected your site, you can proceed with confidence with any one of our carefully screened and pre-selected contractors. Home prices range from the $100s to over a million dollars.

Your choice of lifestyles starts with maintenance-free single-family duplex homes. A wide range of single-family home neighborhoods are available throughout the community, including custom and estate homes. Choose from a home site tucked away on a cul-de-sac, near the golf course or nestled along a designated nature preserve.

Halifax Plantation continues to open new neighborhoods to offer prime home sites to incoming residents. Select from multi-family homes located along the 16th and 17th fairways, or single-family maintenance-free living adjacent to the 17th green and James Ormond Park. In some of the more recently opened neighborhoods, homeowners will find lovely home site choices, ranging from golf course to lakefront to greenbelt views.

One of the newest neighborhoods is Dunmore. The first models there are now completed and ready to tour. Dunmore is worth a look for its new/old ideas – garages tucked behind homes, nicely-sized front porches and pleasant mix of bungalow and neo-traditional architecture.

When finished, this new neighborhood just off the 18th hole will offer some refreshing options, including the fact that the homes face the golf course view (rather than back up to it) allowing everyone in the community to appreciate the incredible setting. Dunmore’s single-family detached homes share drives leading to attached garages in the rear, resulting in more green space and much less concrete. Alley-loaded duplexes go even further to enhance the streetscape, with rear access to garages.

The Greens Are Fast And Smooth, And The Fairways Are Lush And Light
A wide spectrum of golfers — men and women, novice and expert — have discovered that the 7,128-yard course appeals on many levels. The meticulous grooming and consistency of the playing conditions insure its place as one of the finest courses in Volusia County. In fact, Halifax Plantation Golf Club received national recognition as a Four Gold Star Facility in Golf Digest’s 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 editions of “Places to Play.” The course was among those rated by 1.55 million Golf Digest subscribers on such criteria as the overall golf experience, the value for their money, the standard of service at the facility, the conditioning of the course and the normal pace of play for an 18-hole round of golf.

The Clubhouse Is The Heart of This Sporting Community
The warm ambience of the Clubhouse makes it a favorite gathering spot for golfers and non-golfers alike. In addition to the 18 holes of golf just out the back door, club facilities also include four clay tennis courts, exercise room, swimming pool, and men’s and women’s locker rooms. The Pro Shop carries wide variety of name-brand golf merchandise and attire, and is managed by two PGA Teaching Professionals. For serious or novice golfers, lessons from our resident PGA Teaching Professionals are available.

A club room for private parties or meetings is available, as is a Grand Ballroom for banquets or weddings. The Clubhouse is also an ideal meeting spot for lunch or dinner. The comfortable, yet polished atmosphere of Tavern by the Green offers a relaxing dine with a view of the course. The homemade food includes soups, chili, salads, stacked sandwiches, burgers, pastries and desserts. Dinner selections are chosen and prepared daily, and reflect a more continental flair, with entrees ranging from coq au vin to paella to scaloppini di vitello. But one of the most important assets of Halifax Plantation Golf Club is Halifax Plantation itself.
